On August 31, the Australian Negotiator had revealed shocking claims that former governor of Borno State, Modu Sheriff and former Chief of Army Staff, General Onyeabo Azubuike Ihejirika are Boko Haram sponsors.
The claims has since caused controversy, as Modu Sheriff has responded to the allegations, while General Ihejirika in his reply said: “I want to further advise that baseless, unfounded and frivolous allegations like this have the capacity of diverting our attention, away from the main problem.
Meanwhile there are reports that the dreaded Boko Haram sect was upset by most of the claims made by the negotiator and was set to make a categorical position on all the issues raised by Davis in the media.“
Dr Stephen Davis in an interviwe with Sahara Reporters had said: “If we don’t do our utmost now to dismantle Boko Haram then we may not be able to do so for another generation. That is a very gloomy scenario for Nigeria.”
Meanwhile a Nigerian negotiator has confirmed the allegations made by Australian Stephen Davis that Modu Sherif and General Ihejirika are Boko Haram sponsors.
