Jabulani Khumalo's grandparents have been devastated
The young man identified as one Jabulani Khumalo, has been killed.
According to Daily Sun SA, his only sin was that he spat on the ground.
It was reported that Khumalo, 24, was killed as he walked past
Daveyton Hostel in Ekurhuleni, South Africa, when he sneezed and spat on
the pavement – but was seen by an angry man at the hostel gate.
“Uyanginyanyisa,” the man shouted, took out a gun and shot Jabulani, from Daveyton, who died later in hospital.
Passersby were shocked and called the police but the suspect fled before cops arrived.
The suspect is now on the run and cops are looking for him.
Jabulani’s devastated family was called to the scene.
His gogo Anna Khumalo (70) said Jabulani was on his way to work when he was killed.
Anna said her grandson had just started working. “We are heartbroken. My grandson had so many goals and was looking forward to achieving them, but now that will never happen.
“Some people are full of anger and hatred. Can something like that make you kill someone? I can’t believe Jabulani is gone.”
She said they are praying for justice so the man responsible pays for what he did.
Jabulani’s madala, Paulos Khumalo, said the killer was standing at the gate of the hostel when his grandson walked past.
“We were told my grandson was walking past and sneezed. After
sneezing he spat. The man told him he disgusted him and shot him under
the right eye. I hope his conscience will haunt him.” He said hostel residents told them the man was feared.
A case has been opened at Daveyton Police Station and cops are looking for the suspect.
