Some rampaging armed robbers in Delta State, South-south part of Nigeria met their waterloo in an awry operation.
Bodies of the miscreants being displaced
The operatives of Nigerian Police Force in Delta State hit a
milestone by routing out a group of assailants who were on a robbery
operation in the Niger Delta area that has become a hub for criminals in
recent times.
Four of the robbers were shot dead and displayed for public view at
a nearby police post which recorded the presence of some journalists.
The incident happened yesterday, 26th of September around the
Ajamimogha area of Warri, after they dispossessed a man of N126,000.
They had engaged the police patrol team from A’ Division, Warri, in a
gun battle.
The gunmen however ran out of luck when one of the bullets from the patrol team hit the Volkswagen car, which they were escaping with, making it to lose control before it rammed into a pole.
One of the suspected armed robbers was one Ovie, who many say was known for kidnapping, r*pe and armed robbery in Warri.
The gunmen were trailing another man who had just gone to collect
money from the bank, when, the patrol team discreetly traced them until
they opened fire on the police vehicle.
