After 10 months of uncertainty NMVA organisers announce winners for 2015

Perhaps, one of the biggest glitches in the entertainment industry in 2015 was the Nigerian Music Video Awards not being able to hold. After months of expectation and hype, the award which was slated for December 17, 2015 at Eko Hotel was postponed with the organisers keeping the hopes of music lovers alive with a promise of a new date for the award – but the date never came.
“Due to Circumstances beyond our control, it has become inevitable to postpone by a few weeks the 9th edition of the annual Nigerian Music Video Awards earlier fixed for December 17th, 2015,” Cally Ikpe, the creator of the award said. “A new date will be communicated shortly. We deeply regret all inconveniences”.

“Recall that the heavily publicized annual ceremony was called off barely 78 hours to the D-day. Logistics challenge necessitated  the decision. Really, it was a tough call but it was inevitable’. Also, efforts at overhauling  the concept, with a view to making it more purposeful contributed to the slow response. The event was however rescheduled for a later date,” he added
In order to keep the award on track and not let it die off, it would seem the organisers have taken the bull by the horn by  the horn, with the announcement of the winners for the 2015 edition without any fanfare, which was the 9th edition to make way for hosting the 10th which comes up soonest.

“However, as to why the release had to be now, we reckon that is“all other stages of the 9th edition of the NMVA was observed, from the call for entry, the nomination and to the online voting among other ancillary programs. It is imperative that the public is let in to what the result of the process was. Though belated, but we are pleased to announce the winners in the various categories for the 9th edition of the annual Nigeria Music Video Awards. In a short while, we will also let you know what the plans for the 2016 edition are,” Ikpe assures music lovers
