Broadway Dancer Murders Boyfriend Then Confessed On Facebook
A Broadway dancer posted a chilling confession on Facebook moments after he allegedly murdered his boyfriend.
Marcus Bellamy, 32, of Brooklyn, was taken into custody on Friday and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Bernardo Almonte.
Police responded to the 27-year-old’s apartment at West 174th Street in The Bronx, New York, at 4.15pm to find him unresponsive with trauma to the head, an NYPD spokesman told Daily Mail Online.
He was taken to St Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Bellamy posted a message on Facebook minutes before police arrived on the scene, writing: ‘I am god. I give life and can take it away. So let it be. #therapture.’
In another post, he said: ‘Forgive me. I did it because I love you. I love you all. I loved him also. He told me love and hate are the same emotion.
'Forgive me. I know not what I do. I did it for love.’
Before those two posts, he had written a post just before 4pm, saying only ‘Lucifer.’
In another, he said: ‘I did it for love.’
Bellamy strangled and beat his lover to death after an argument, the New York Daily News reports. It was not immediately known what they had been fighting about, but Bellamy bit both of Almonte’s shoulders during the brawl, a police source told the newspaper.
He then allegedly left his boyfriend face down and bleeding from a head wound.
Bellamy then reportedly told a neighbor that he’d killed his roommate and police arrested him after the neighbor called 911.
A witness said Bellamy had been standing on the sidewalk outside the apartment and looked like he was praying before police arrived.
