ERC revises up fuel prices (KENYA)

Beginning midnight, fuel will be costlier.

A liter of Super Petrol is up one shilling and 92 cents, diesel increases by three shillings and 34 cents while Kerosene is up three shillings and 82 cents.

The Energy Regulatory Commission attributes the latest fuel increase to higher landed cost of imported petroleum products.

The landed cost of petroleum products has gone up with super petrol rising 3.64 percent while kerosene rose 12.63 percent.

From midnight, a liter of Super Petrol will increase by one shilling and 92 cents, diesel is up by three shillings and 34 cents while Kerosene increases by three shillings and 82 cents.

Based on the latest pump price increment, fuel will be cheapest in Mombasa with a liter of super petrol retailing at 82 shillings and 78 cents, diesel at 70 shillings and 36 cents while Kerosene sell at 47 shillings and 98 cents.

Consumers in Nairobi will now pay 86 shillings and 17 cents for a liter of super petrol, 73 shillings and 71 cents for diesel and 50 shillings and 80 cents for a liter of kerosene.

Fuel will be most expensive in Mandera where a liter of super petrol will retail at 99 shillings and 97 cents, diesel at 87 shillings and 52 cents while a liter of Kerosene will sell at 64 shillings and 61 cents.

ERC is calling on consumers to report any petrol station that does retails fuel at prices more than those published by the commission. Mediaafricana.blogspot.com
