Angry Ogbete Market Mob Set Two Boys Ablaze For Alleged Stealing in Enugu

The entire Ogbete main market in Enugu state was thrown into pandemonium on Friday as an angry market mob set two young boys ablaze for alleged stealing in the market.
According to AfricanExaminer, eyewitnesses said the two boys were allegedly “burnt in the early hours of Friday at rail line holy ghost axis, Enugu by an angry mob for breaking into people’s shops.
Following the setting of the two boys ablaze, the entire market was thrown into serious crisis, as friends of the victims declared war on managers of the market for given the order. The situation
would have turned bloody, if not for the quick intervention of police operatives from the state central police station.
Confirming the ugly incident, the state police public Relations officer, PPRO, Ebere Amarizu, said:
“The attention of police operatives of the central police station of the Enugu state command were drawn to the incident. And on their quick arrival to the scene, they met the victims severely burnt and unconscious, but however, rushed them to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The command is urging the people to be law abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands as well as jungle justice, just as it has commenced full scale investigation into the incident.
